Overview
A growing technology and manufacturing company is seeking an experienced Accounting and Administrative Director to join its leadership team. This individual will oversee all accounting operations, financial reporting, payroll, and administrative functions to ensure accuracy, compliance, and efficiency across the organization. Key Responsibilities
- Oversee all accounting operations, including general ledger management, month-end close, and preparation of consolidated financial statements (income statement, balance sheet, and cash flow).
- Complete monthly close within established deadlines and provide financial analysis, variance reporting, and key performance metrics.
- Lead budgeting and forecasting processes, including preparation of annual budgets and long-term financial projections.
- Manage bi-weekly payroll processing, reporting, and related journal entries.
- Supervise A/P and A/R activities, ensuring timely and accurate processing of transactions.
- Maintain and enhance accounting systems and ERP functionality to improve process efficiency and reporting accuracy.
- Serve as the primary contact for banking, insurance, and external financial relationships.
- Oversee corporate contracts, facilities management, and vendor services to ensure smooth office operations.
- Support external audit and tax preparation processes in collaboration with CPA firms.
- Prepare and present financial reports and insights to the executive team and Board of Directors.
- Participate as an active member of the management team, contributing to organizational strategy and operational excellence.
- Lead or assist with special projects and other duties as assigned by the President or CEO.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (CPA preferred but not required).
- Minimum of 7 years of progressive accounting experience, including demonstrated success in financial reporting and process improvement.
- Prior experience in a manufacturing or technology-driven environment strongly preferred.
- Experience managing or supervising accounting staff.
- Strong understanding of GAAP accounting principles and internal controls.
- Proficiency with ERP systems and QuickBooks.
- Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel and solid competency with other Microsoft Office applications.
- Excellent organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to manage multiple priorities under tight deadlines.
- Strong communication and leadership skills with the ability to collaborate effectively across departments.
Location: This is an on-site position based in Madison, Wisconsin.
