What are the responsibilities and job description for the Federal Work Study Student Part Time - Fine Arts position at Sussex County Community College?
Sussex County Community College is seeking students for positions associated with the Federal Work Study Program.
To be considered for this position, you must be a current SCCC student who has completed the FAFSA and been awarded Federal Work-Study funds. Federal Work-Study is a need-based program, and eligibility is determined by financial need, enrollment status (at least half-time), and maintaining satisfactory academic progress.
Fine Arts Assistant / Student Show Assistant (2 positions available for Fall 2025, Winter 2026 and Spring 2026)
Candidates are requested to be a fine art major pursuing an AFA studio arts or art education degree.
SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Assisting Fine Art Show Coordinator with shows including Juried Lab Show & Portfolio Exhibition.
- Preparing artwork, hanging and taking down the show.
- Transporting art & equipment.
- Assisting with additional studio needs in the Fine Arts department such as changing artwork on bulletin boards, cleaning sinks, organizing cubbies, moving equipment.
- Other related tasks.
- Scheduled needs are on Mondays Tuesdays and Fridays (flexible based on class schedule)
SPECIAL SKILLS REQIRED:
- Matting and framing of artwork.
- Familiarity with gallery shows.
- Attention to detail.
- Ability to follow directions.
- Good hand craftsmanship skills.
