Job Summary
We are seeking a reliable and hardworking Truss & Lumber Associate to support daily operations in a lumber yard or truss manufacturing environment. This role may involve production, yard work, or design tasks depending on experience and facility needs. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, safety-focused, and capable of working in a fast-paced, physically demanding environment.
Key Responsibilities
Production & Assembly
- Assemble roof trusses, floor trusses, and wall panels according to specifications
- Measure, cut, and prepare lumber using hand tools, power tools, and saws
- Ensure all assemblies meet quality and structural requirements
- Follow production schedules and maintain efficient workflow
Yard & Material Handling
- Load, unload, and organize lumber and building materials
- Pull and stage materials for production or customer orders
- Operate forklifts, saws, and other equipment safely (training provided if needed)
- Maintain a clean, organized yard and work area
Shipping & Inventory
- Prepare finished trusses and materials for delivery
- Assist with inventory counts and material tracking
- Ensure correct labeling, bundling, and loading of products
Design & Planning (If applicable)
- Use truss design or CAD software to create accurate structural layouts
- Interpret blueprints, specifications, and building plans
- Communicate with contractors, builders, and internal teams to ensure design accuracy
Requirements
- Previous experience in truss manufacturing, construction, carpentry, or lumber yard work preferred
- Ability to lift 50–75 lbs and perform physically demanding tasks
- Comfortable working outdoors or in warehouse environments
- Basic math and measurement skills
- Ability to read blueprints is a plus
- Computer skills and experience with design software (for design-focused roles)
- Strong attention to detail, communication skills, and a commitment to safety
