Job Summary
We are seeking a reliable and detail-oriented Scale Operator to manage the weighing of inbound and outbound vehicles, maintain accurate records, and provide excellent customer service. This role requires strong communication skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities
· Operate and maintain vehicle scales to weigh incoming and outgoing trucks or other vehicles.
· Accurately record weight data and other required information in logbooks or computer systems.
· Generate and print shipping tickets, receiving logs, and related documentation.
· Provide professional customer service, including greeting drivers, answering questions, and resolving issues as they arise.
· Perform administrative tasks such as managing truck schedules, processing paperwork, and supporting office operations.
· Verify load details, check container seals, and ensure compliance with company policies and relevant regulations.
· Handle cash, credit, and check transactions accurately and efficiently.
Qualifications & Skills
· Strong attention to detail to ensure accurate measurements and precise data entry.
· Effective communication and customer service skills for interacting with drivers, customers, and internal staff.
· Proficiency with computers and basic office software for data entry and record-keeping.
· Ability to work independently, stay organized, and follow established procedures.
