Position: Receiving Lead
Status: Onsite; Full-time, Non-Exempt
Responsibilities
We are seeking a reliable and detail-oriented Receiving Lead to oversee the daily receiving operations in our warehouse. This role ensures that all incoming shipments are processed accurately and efficiently while maintaining a clean, organized, and safe work environment. The ideal candidate will have hands-on warehouse experience, strong leadership skills, and a commitment to accuracy and process improvement. While this is not an exhaustive list, the following are essential areas of focus and duties:
Receiving Operations & Leadership
• Lead the receiving team in unloading, inspecting, and verifying incoming shipments.
• Check deliveries against purchase orders and packing slips to confirm accuracy and completeness.
• Identify and escalate any shipment discrepancies, damages, or shortages to the appropriate departments.
• Ensure all items are properly labeled and stored in designated areas according to company procedures.
• Train and mentor team members to maintain consistent performance and adherence to company policies.
Inventory Support & Accuracy
• Maintain accurate records of received goods using manual or basic digital logs.
• Support inventory accuracy by ensuring received items are documented and stored correctly.
• Assist with routine inventory checks and reconciliations as needed.
• Ensure bin and storage areas are clearly labeled and organized. This role should share a vision of an efficient warehouse (i.e., location placement, clean skids away, prioritize which orders are received, sorted, and put away).
Process Improvement & Safety
• Identify opportunities to improve receiving efficiency and implement best practices.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe receiving area in compliance with safety standards. • Ensure that team members follow all company policies and safety guidelines.
• Assist in developing and refining standard operating procedures (SOPs) for receiving activities.
Qualifications:Required Qualifications
• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• 3 years of warehouse experience, with at least 1 year in a leadership or team lead role.
• Strong understanding of receiving processes, inventory handling, and basic documentation.
• Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Effective communication and leadership abilities. This role is customer facing to internal clients, so collaboration, approachability, and proactive communication are essential.
• Forklift certification and experience operating material handling equipment preferred.
• Lean Six Sigma or similar process improvement certification, preferred.
• Experience in high-volume distribution or fulfillment centers, preferred.
Physical Requirements • Ability to work in a warehouse environment with frequent standing, walking, and lifting (up to 50 lbs.) • Flexibility to support multiple shifts as needed (days, nights, weekends
