Instructor - Temporary - SUNY Broome Community College's Department of Mechanical Technology invites applications for a temporary Instructor or Assistant Professor for the 2026-2027

academic year. This is a full time, on campus position with the potential to become an ongoing, tenure track position. Ten (10) month salary is spread over twelve (12) months

to allow for consistent, uninterrupted pay periods. We are seeking an experienced and dedicated educator to provide high-quality instruction and mentorship to students

pursuing careers in Mechanical and Manufacturing Engineering Technology. The successful candidate will have a strong background in Mechanical Engineering

Technology, with expertise in areas such as circuit analysis, electronics, and control systems.

As an Instructor/Assistant Professor, you'll be responsible for teaching undergraduate courses and contributing to the department's outreach activities. We want to hear from

Responsibilities Include But Are Not Limited To

Creating Syllabus.

Teaching in a learner-centered classroom with a strong commitment to the community college mission.

Assessing student learning outcomes.

Utilizing current learning management system technology (Brightspace) in the

performance of job duties.

Maintaining standards of professional conduct and ethics.

Participate in and support departmental initiatives.

Fulfilling other duties as outlined in the Faculty contract.

Requirements

The Instructor position requires a minimum of a Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Manufacturing, Robotics Engineering, or a related field, with work

experience in an area appropriate to the teaching field strongly preferred. The Assistant Professor position requires a Master's degree in an appropriate

field with either three (3) years of teaching experience or an appropriate combination of teaching, relevant work experience, and scholarly activity.

Visa sponsorship is not available for this position. Applicants must be authorized to work in the United States without current or future sponsorship from the

employer.

Preferred Experience

Teaching Precision Manufacturing, CNC Programming (G-code) with imports from various CAD Software. Experience with Haas tooling.

Teaching Tool Carousel Programming including Print- to- Part. Mechanical Curriculum Experience: Require proficiency with core mechanical

course curriculum with labs and class room material preparation. CNC Programming Experience: Require proficiency in computer-aided design

(CAD) and computer-aided manufacturing (CAM), as well as knowledge of materials, machine operations, and production processes.

Work experience in an area appropriate to the teaching field. Additional coursework in an appropriate field is desirable.

Additional Information

The annual minimum salary for Instructor is $53,445. The salary will increase to $55,022 on September 1, 2026.

Salary offer will be based on the candidate's qualifications and experience. Offers of employment will be conditional based upon the results of a satisfactory,
