Job Description
Position: Network Engineer
Location: Columbia, SC Hybrid (3 days onsite per week)
Years of Exp: 07 Years
Work Type: C2C/W2
Duration:12 Months
Location: Candidate MUST be a SC resident. No relocation allowed.
Scope of the Project
Support the server environment in maintaining, modernizing, and securing physical and virtual servers. Focus on server segmentation, security compliance, and business continuity. Assist in day-to-day server operations and collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement IT best practices.
Daily Duties & Responsibilities
· Plan, design, install, configure, and convert servers into a segmented framework.
· Coordinate daily tasks with IT managers, team leads, and vendors.
· Advise on hardware configurations and system implementations.
· Implement security controls, compliance with CIS/NIST standards, and respond to vulnerabilities/incidents.
· Provide Tier 3 escalation support for complex identity, access, and authentication issues.
· Participate in infrastructure projects, migrations, upgrades, and cloud integrations.
· Produce technical documentation, implementation plans, and lifecycle roadmaps.
· Work flexible hours, including outside traditional business hours as needed.
Required Skills
· 5 years of experience with Windows server
· 5 years of experience with GPO and Powershell
· 5 years of experience with Microsoft Active Directory
· 5 years of experience with Backup and Disaster Recovery (DR) in enterprise environment
· 5 years of experience with computer and network hardware, software, operating systems
· 2 years of experience with security and data classification related to CDC, HIPAA, or CJIS
· 3 years of experience with Information Technology System analysis, design, testing, and maintenance
