About Us:
Sunset Trivia runs 150 weekly trivia events across California, Nevada and Arizona, helping bars and restaurants turn slow nights into packed ones. We’re growing quickly and looking for someone to help support day-to-day operations behind the scenes.
Role Overview:
We’re looking for a reliable, proactive Operations Associate to help manage our trivia hosts and keep events running smoothly. This is a part-time role (15–20 hours/week) with a mix of remote work and occasional in-person support in San Diego.
This is not a micromanaged role; you’ll be expected to take ownership, solve problems quickly, and keep things moving without needing constant direction.
What You’ll Do:
- Communicate daily with trivia hosts (scheduling, questions, support)
- Handle last-minute staffing issues and find replacements when needed
- Help recruit, onboard, and train new hosts
- Step in to host trivia events in San Diego when needed
- Assist with general operations and miscellaneous tasks as things come up
- Ensure events run smoothly and troubleshoot issues in real time
What We’re Looking For:
- Highly responsive and organized (this is key)
- Quick learner who can pick things up fast
- Comfortable working under pressure and solving problems on the fly
- Self-starter who can operate with minimal direction
- Reliable and accountable
- Comfortable using digital tools and communication platforms
- Available in the evenings when events are happening
- Comfortable in front of crowds (you will host trivia events, intermittently)
- Operations, events, or hospitality experience is a plus
