sundays is a non-toxic nail care brand at the intersection of beauty and wellness. Our studios are designed to feel clean, calm, and restorative — a place where clients can slow down, feel cared for, and leave better than they arrived.
We currently operate six studios across New York, with plans to continue expanding. We are looking for a strong operational leader to help build the systems, culture, and team structure needed for our next stage of growth.
The Role
sundays is looking for a hands-on Director of Studio Operations to lead our NYC studios and act as the multi-unit general manager across locations. This role is responsible for driving studio sales, hiring and developing studio leaders, improving client experience, and ensuring each location meets its monthly goals.
This role combines strategic thinking, operational discipline, and people leadership. You will lead and mentor Studio Managers and Front Desk Managers while ensuring each location delivers exceptional client experiences, strong team culture, and consistent financial performance.
What You'll Own
Financial Performance & Profitability (35%)
Drive revenue growth and financial health across all studio locations.
Responsibilities include:
- Lead studio teams to meet or exceed monthly sales targets across all locations
- Monitor studio performance using key metrics including revenue vs targets, technician utilization, client rebooking, and payroll efficiency
- Identify performance patterns early and implement solutions that improve both revenue and operational efficiency
- Partner with Studio Managers to develop strong local performance plans
- Collaborate with leadership on initiatives that drive sustainable growth across the studio network
Operational Excellence(25%)
Help build the operating systems that support a multi-location business.
Responsibilities include:
- Build and maintain a weekly studio performance dashboard tracking key KPIs including revenue vs target, technician utilization rate, rebooking rate, technician retention, and payroll efficiency
- Establish consistent weekly operating rhythms, including studio reviews, performance coaching, and leadership check-ins
- Use data to identify opportunities for improvement across scheduling, service delivery, and studio performance
- Partner with the founder to refine operational systems that support scaling from six studios to ten and beyond
Team Development & Culture (25%)
Lead and develop a strong studio leadership team.
Responsibilities include:
- Hire, onboard, and mentor Studio Managers and Front Desk Managers
- Provide regular coaching on leadership, performance management, and operational discipline
- Build a culture where team members feel supported, accountable, and proud of their work
- Retain high-performing technicians by fostering an environment where talented people can grow and thrive
- Recognize and celebrate team achievements across locations
Client Experience & Sales Leadership (15%)
Ensure every studio delivers the sundays client experience while coaching teams to increase rebooking, thoughtful service upgrades, and retail product sales.
Responsibilities include:
- Lead studio teams in delivering exceptional, consistent client experiences
- Coach teams on client rebooking, thoughtful service upgrades, and retail product recommendations
- Help each studio grow product retail sales with a goal of retail reaching 15% of total studio revenue
- Ensure team members understand sundays products and can recommend them naturally based on each client’s nail care needs
- Train teams to connect the sundays clean beauty and wellness philosophy to both services and products
- Help teams understand how rebooking, upgrades, retail sales, and client care influence overall studio performance
- Address client feedback and concerns thoughtfully to maintain high levels of satisfaction
Operational Focus Areas

Who You Are
You are a disciplined and thoughtful operator who cares deeply about people, culture, and performance.
You likely have:
- 5 to 7 years of experience in operations or multi-unit management, ideally within a premium service, hospitality, retail, beauty, or wellness environment
- Strong operational instincts and comfort working with performance data
- A leadership style that is supportive, clear, and accountable
- Experience building systems and processes in growing businesses
- A hands-on approach — you lead from the floor, not just from spreadsheets
- A genuine belief in the sundays philosophy of non-toxic beauty and mindful self-care

Compensation & Benefits
Base salary: $110,000 – $120,000 depending on experience
Performance bonus: up to $20,000 annually, paid quarterly
