Job Title: Senior Paralegal
Pay Rate: $45–$48/hr (W2)
Duration: 3 months contract
Location: San Jose, CA (Hybrid – 3 days in office)
Schedule: 9:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. PT
We are seeking an experienced Senior Paralegal with strong in-house litigation and dispute-resolution experience to join our legal team for a 3-month assignment. This role is ideal for a detail-oriented professional who thrives in a collaborative environment, can manage multiple cases independently, and has experience supporting pre-litigation and regulatory matters.
You will work closely with litigation counsel and cross-functional teams to manage investigations, draft legal documents, track deadlines, and improve processes across the organization.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage customer disputes, pre-litigation matters, and regulatory complaints from intake to resolution.
- Conduct internal investigations, gather records, build factual timelines, and summarize findings clearly.
- Draft complaint responses, legal holds, discovery responses, and other basic legal documents.
- Maintain a portfolio of cases, track deadlines, and generate reports/metrics.
- Support litigation counsel with pleadings, motions, service, discovery, and case management.
- Respond to subpoenas, liens, garnishments, and similar requests.
- Collaborate with teams such as Customer Service, Payments, Risk, and Operations.
- Develop templates, playbooks, and processes to increase efficiency and consistency.
- Conduct basic legal research and apply conclusions to dispute resolution.
- Identify and escalate potential risks to counsel appropriately.
Qualifications
- 8 years of dispute resolution and litigation experience, with strong pre-litigation skills.
- Prior in-house experience required.
- Demonstrated ability to run investigations and summarize complex facts clearly.
- Strong legal writing skills for complaint responses, discovery objections, legal holds, and settlement documents.
- Experience supporting litigation counsel throughout all phases of litigation.
- Excellent organizational skills, multitasking ability, and attention to detail.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and Google Workspace.
- Ability to collaborate effectively across teams and interact with customers when needed.
- Bachelor’s degree or paralegal certification preferred.
- Strong problem-solving, critical thinking, and independent judgment.
