The Role at a Glance

Summit Food Service is seeking a dependable and experienced Cook to join our kitchen team at Converse County Jail in Douglas, Wyoming.

In this role, you'll help prepare and serve quality meals in a fast-paced kitchen environment while maintaining high standards for food safety, quality, and portion control. What You'll Be Doing

• Prepare and cook meals according to established recipes and production requirements.
• Maintain quality, consistency, and proper portion control.
• Assist with food presentation and meal service.
• Ensure food is stored, labeled, and handled safely.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and sanitary kitchen.
• Follow food safety guidelines, established procedures, and correctional facility policies.
• Work collaboratively with the kitchen team to ensure meals are prepared and served on schedule.
• Perform other duties as assigned by management.

What We're Looking For

Must-Haves:

• At least one year of culinary experience in a high-volume food service environment, preferably with an emphasis on scratch cooking.
• Working knowledge of cooking methods, food preparation techniques, and kitchen standards.
• Strong attention to detail and the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
• Ability to safely operate kitchen equipment and identify various food items.
• Customer service skills and a team-oriented attitude.
• Dependability and the ability to follow food safety procedures and facility requirements.

Nice-to-Haves:

• Current food handler certification.

Compensation and Benefits

Pay Rate: $18.00 per hour
