Position Overview: Reporting to the Sr Process Engineer, the Process Engineering is responsible for supporting all areas in Power Conductor and Manufacturing encompassing, but not limited to, procedure writing, operator and supervisor training and support, process improvements, troubleshooting process issues, evaluation of non-conforming product, and maintenance, project management In this position, you will coordinate technical discussions for the processes involved in your assigned area. This position will support existing Engineering personnel in this area. Candidates must be willing and able to work any shift.
Responsibilities and Duties: (*Indicates an Essential Function)
- Monitor daily operations to ensure compliance with standard process specifications.
- Maintain, revise, and develop production-related work instructions.
- Provide hands-on support for manufacturing processes.
- Manage assigned projects independently and effectively.
- Troubleshoot process issues in a strategic, cross-functional manner and document corrective actions.
- Coordinate and conduct departmental trials, including team organization, communication, data collection, and analysis.
- Coordinate third-party maintenance activities and equipment-related visits.
- Ensure all database information and reports are accurate and submitted in a timely manner.
- Identify trends and resolve discrepancies using standard procedures or in collaboration with cross-functional engineering teams.
- Assist in resolving malfunctions in collaboration with Engineering and Production.
- Assist the department with the startup and evaluation of new products and processes.
- Work with Process Engineers and Engineering Technicians to implement process improvements.
- Assist with production tool maintenance, improvements, and corrective actions.
- Identify and report safety issues through the appropriate channels.
- Perform other duties and special projects as assigned.
Qualifications
- Bachelor of Science in Manufacturing Engineering or a related field preferred.
- Three years of directly related work experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office applications and experienced in statistical data analysis.
- Experience in a high-volume, 24/7 manufacturing environment.
- Knowledge of or experience with a line-integrated seam weld environment.
- Knowledge of both electrical and mechanical systems.
- Detail-oriented and methodical approach to problem-solving.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills, with the ability to gather and analyze data, draw conclusions, and identify trends.
- Ability to work effectively and respectfully with associates at all levels, including managers, engineers, machine operators, quality technicians, line supervisors, and maintenance technicians.
- Strong computer skills, including proficiency with spreadsheet and desktop applications, are required.
- Ability to use mechanical and electrical measuring equipment, such as micrometers, calipers, and multimeters.
- Exposure to Lean Manufacturing principles is preferred.
- Knowledge of welding is preferred but not required.
- Strong technical and mechanical aptitude is required.
- Regular attendance is required; overtime may be required based on business needs.
- Willingness and ability to work any shift, including weekends, are required for this position.
