Project Manager, Renewable Development

Pay Range: $145K-165K
Summary:
Leads all stages of renewable energy project development—primarily solar, wind, and energy storage from site origination through delivery. Will manage permitting, interconnection, land acquisition, engineering design, environmental/ technical reporting, community engagement, and coordination with finance, legal, and construction teams.Responsibilities:
- Oversee all phases and technical tasks required for project development including site screening, feasibility studies, permitting, technical reporting and surveys, interconnection, design, and contracting.
- Develop and maintain project schedules, budgets, and anticipate project risks.
- Experience in land agreements, zoning, environmental clearances, and tax abatements
- Coordinate grid interconnection applications and studies (ERCOT/TSP).
- Manage third-party consultants (environmental, engineering, legal, interconnect, etc.).
- Prepare development reports, presentations, and investment memos for management or financing partners.
- Act as primary project contact for stakeholders, landowners, local governments, utilities, and regulators.
- Support commercial negotiations with utilities, offtakers, and partners.
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations (NEPA, FAA, PUCT, FERC, local permitting).
- Track evolving energy policy, tax incentives (IRA/FEOC/OBBBA), and market structures.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Environmental Science, Business, or related field (Master’s preferred).
- 5 years in renewable energy development (solar, wind, or hybrid storage).
- Proven delivery of greenfield or late-stage projects to NTP/financial close.
- Familiarity with land acquisition, permitting, and interconnection processes in ERCOT or other ISO.
- Strong understanding of project finance principles and power market fundamentals.
- Excellent communication, contract negotiation, and stakeholder-management skills.
- Proficiency in MS Project, Excel, GIS, and standard project-management tools.
