Description
The Facilities department is seeking a project manager that has a desire to apply their project management experience, while actively engaging with the facilities/maintenance team and seeing wide and varied projects through from concept development to commissioning and operation.
Responsibilities
- Ability to manage multiple projects at one time, including a wide range of project scopes from small to complex with varying schedules.
- Managing projects through all phases of project execution from initiation and scope development, through design, construction and closeout to achieve project schedules, budgets and goals.
- Interact with the client and design team to develop project scope and communicate regular project status updates with the client.
- Provide directions to a multi-disciplined project design team.
- Monitor project execution for conformance to established processes.
- Develop relationships with all levels of the client organization, promoting client satisfaction and marketing services.
- Demonstrate creativity, foresight and judgement in anticipating and solving problems.
- Bachelor’s degree in interior architecture, Interior Design, or related field from accredited program and min 8 years related experience in design and interior construction management, including 5 years or more project management experience in the architecture, interior design, construction industry is required.
- Prefer 3 years project management experience for projects related to commercial office facilities.
- Must have a minimum of 3 years in the construction industry. Previous experience as a foreman and/ or superintendent is a plus.
- Ability to orchestrate meetings with team members and upper management and lead multi-discipline design team.
- Excellent written & verbal communication skills.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Conduct field work throughout the facility to support design and construction.
- Capable of devising new approaches to problems encountered.
- Must be proficient in the use of basic computer software (i.e. Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, project specifications and procedure manuals.
- Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.
- Computer Skills: To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of MS Excel and MS Word software.
