Beloved! A Resale Boutique for Women is a social enterprise of The Nia Project, a nonprofit organization dedicated to empowering girls and women through education, civic engagement, and workforce development. Our boutique combines upscale fashion with community impact — providing middle and high school girls with hands-on internship experiences that teach professional skills, confidence, and the value of service.
Position Overview
The Boutique Manager oversees daily operations of the store, ensuring high-quality shopping experience and excellent customer service. This individual will serve as a mentor and role model for participating youth interns, integrating workforce development principles into the boutique environment. The ideal candidate has experience in upscale or boutique level services. Candidate must enjoy working with and developing young people and be passionate about empowering girls.
Key Responsibilities
Retail Operations
- Manage all aspects of day-to-day boutique operations including sales, merchandising, inventory, pricing, and visual presentation.
- Provide exceptional customer service that reflects the boutique’s upscale experience.
- Track and report on sales goals, performance metrics, and operational budgets.
- Oversee product intake, tagging, and display of resale and donated items.
- Maintain clean, inviting, and organized store environment.
Youth Workforce Development
- Supervise and mentor middle and high school interns participating in workforce training programs.
- Model professional appearance, behavior, teamwork, and customer engagement.
- Facilitate on-the-job learning opportunities in customer service, merchandising, marketing, and entrepreneurship.
- Collaborate with staff to assess intern progress and provide feedback and guidance.
- Foster an inclusive, supportive, and empowering environment for all participants.
Marketing and Community Engagement
- Assist in developing and executing marketing strategies, promotions, and social media content.
- Represent the boutique at community events and partnership activities.
- Build relationships with donors, vendors, and customers to support both retail and program goals.
Qualifications
- Minimum 2 years of experience in retail management, preferably in upscale or boutique settings.
- Strong leadership and mentoring skills; experience working with youth or young adults preferred.
- Excellent communication, organizational, and customer service skills.
- Passion for girls and women’s empowerment, education, and community service.
- Ability to work flexible hours including some weekends.
Location: Country Club Plaza – 231 West 47th Street, Kansas City, MO 64112
Schedule: Monday-Friday 10:00 a.m. – 6:00 p.m. (option for 32-40 hours per week)
Anticipated Start Date: Monday, November 3, 2025
