Position Overview
The Pastry Chef role is responsible for preparing and executing the restaurant’s pastry and dessert offerings according to established recipes, standards, and presentation guidelines. Working closely with kitchen leadership, the Pastry Chef helps maintain consistency, quality, and creativity across all pastry production while contributing to an exceptional guest experience.
The ideal candidate is organized, detail-oriented, and passionate about pastry arts, with a strong foundation in production, technique, and execution.
Responsibilities
- Prepare and execute desserts, pastries, breads, and other baked goods according to established recipes and standards
- Maintain consistency, quality, and presentation across all pastry offerings
- Assist with daily pastry production, prep lists, and station organization
- Support the development and refinement of pastry and dessert offerings as directed by kitchen leadership
- Ensure all products are properly labeled, stored, and rotated according to established procedures
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of pastry stations, storage areas, and equipment
- Monitor inventory levels and communicate product needs to kitchen leadership
- Follow all food safety, sanitation, and workplace safety standards
- Assist with receiving, organizing, and storing deliveries as needed
- Contribute to a positive, collaborative, and team-oriented kitchen culture
Qualifications
- 2 years of experience in a pastry, bakery, or professional kitchen environment preferred
- Strong understanding of pastry techniques, baking fundamentals, and dessert production
- Ability to follow recipes with precision and consistency
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Passion for pastry arts, hospitality, and continuous learning
- Ability to work efficiently and remain composed in a fast-paced environment
- Availability to work mornings, nights, weekends, and holidays as needed
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 pounds
