Position Overview
The Insurance Coordinator is responsible for managing patient insurance verification, assisting with claims processing, and supporting front office operations. This individual will serve as a primary point of contact for patients, helping guide them through their insurance benefits and financial responsibilities while maintaining a smooth and organized schedule.
Key Responsibilities
Verify patient insurance benefits and eligibility prior to appointments
Assist with submitting and following up on insurance claims
Check patients in and out, ensuring accurate documentation
Answer incoming phone calls and assist with patient inquiries
Schedule and confirm patient appointments to maintain a productive schedule
Support and manage the practice’s Smile Direct Club or in-house membership/payment plan
Provide a high level of customer service and create a welcoming environment for patients
Collaborate with clinical and administrative teams to ensure efficient daily operations
Qualifications
Minimum of 2 years of dental or medical front office/insurance experience preferred
Strong understanding of dental insurance verification and claims processes
Excellent communication and customer service skills
Friendly, professional, and team-oriented demeanor
Ability to multitask and stay organized in a fast-paced environment
