About the Company
Our client is a proprietary trading firm operating at the intersection of energy markets and data infrastructure. They have built their platform entirely in-house and are looking for a Data Engineer II to join a lean, high-impact Platform team working directly alongside traders every single day.
This is not a background role. You will sit at the core of a revenue-generating operation where the quality of your pipelines directly influences trading decisions.
What You Will Be Doing
- Designing, building and maintaining production-grade data pipelines across ETL and ELT workflows
- Owning and optimising the data infrastructure that traders rely on in real time
- Collaborating daily with non-technical stakeholders across the trading floor
- Driving improvements to pipeline performance, reliability and scalability
- Contributing to a small, highly skilled engineering team where your work is immediately visible
What They Are Looking For
- 3 to 5 years of hands-on data engineering experience
- Strong proficiency across Snowflake, dbt, Dagster, Python, SQL and PHP
- Solid ETL/ELT experience with a track record of building reliable pipelines
- A 4-year degree in a related field
- Permanent US work authorization (no sponsorship available)
- Based in or willing to relocate to the Washington, DC area
