Position Summary
The Senior Accountant is responsible for overseeing general ledger activities, supporting the month-end close process, and ensuring the accuracy and integrity of financial reporting. This role plays a key part in maintaining compliance with GAAP, strengthening internal controls, and providing financial insight to support business decisions. The Senior Accountant partners cross-functionally with finance, operations, and leadership teams to drive process improvements and enhance reporting accuracy.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close processes
- Prepare and review journal entries, accruals, and adjusting entries
- Perform complex account reconciliations and resolve discrepancies
- Maintain and analyze general ledger accounts
- Prepare financial statements and supporting schedules
- Ensure compliance with GAAP and company accounting policies
- Support internal and external audit requests
- Assist with budgeting and forecasting activities
- Analyze financial results and explain variances
- Monitor and improve internal controls
- Identify process improvement opportunities and implement efficiencies
- Mentor and support junior accounting staff
Qualifications
Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance required
- CPA or CPA candidate preferred
Experience:
- 4–7 years of progressive accounting experience
- Public accounting experience preferred
- Experience with ERP systems (SAP, Oracle, NetSuite, Microsoft Dynamics, etc.)
