What are the responsibilities and job description for the Senior Accountant position at LHH US?
LHH is partnering with a client in the Columbus area to identify a Senior Accountant for a contract opportunity. This position will provide coverage for a medical leave and is expected to last 4-5 months, with potential for extension. This is a great opportunity for a hands-on accounting professional who thrives in a deadline-driven environment and can quickly step in to support ongoing operations.

Responsibilities:
- Manage month-end close activities, including journal entries, account reconciliations, and financial reporting
- Analyze financial data and investigate variances to ensure accuracy and compliance
- Maintain general ledger integrity and support day-to-day accounting operations
- Assist with preparation of internal and external financial reports
- Collaborate cross-functionally with internal teams to gather financial information and resolve discrepancies
- Support audit requests and ensure proper documentation of processes and controls
- Identify opportunities for process improvements and assist with implementation
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
- At least 5 years of progressive accounting experience, including full-cycle accounting
- Strong knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting processes
- Advanced Excel skills (pivot tables, VLOOKUPs, etc.)
- Ability to work independently and adapt quickly in a fast-paced environment
- Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills
- Experience with ERP systems (NetSuite, SAP, Oracle, or similar) preferred
