What are the responsibilities and job description for the Behavioral Health Technician position at Still Detox?
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Behavioral Health Technician to join our team in the substance abuse and mental health field. As a Behavioral Health Technician, you will be responsible for facilitating the recovery process of individuals struggling with substance abuse and mental health disorders. You will work closely with a multidisciplinary team to provide support guidance, and monitor the progress of clients in their treatment plans.
Responsibilities
- Our BHTs spend quality time with our clients
- Provide crisis intervention and de-escalation techniques as necessary
- They observe, interact and encourage them throughout the day, during downtime, overnight, between sessions and during activities
- BHT observes clients when they are unguarded and are a vital part of assessing, reporting and supporting early recovery during treatment
- Observe medication administration
- Responsible for monitoring all activity of person's served throughout the facility
- Maintain confidentiality and adhere to ethical guidelines as required by regulatory agencies
- Report all adverse client behaviors and concerns
- Work cohesively with all departments for the common purpose of client care and client safety
- Utilize appropriate behavior modification techniques to teach desirable behavior
- Conduct security and safety checks
- Conduct urinary analysis when necessary
- Document activities and behavior patterns
- Maintain appearance and cleanliness of the residence
- Complete Intakes through EMR system (KIPU)
- Ability to work as a team
Qualifications
- Knowledge of substance abuse disorders, behavior management techniques, and evidence-based treatment interventions.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team.
- Current CPR and First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain).
- Ability to maintain professionalism and confidentiality in sensitive situations.
- Ability to handle stressful situations in a professional manner at all times.
- Provide professional client care
- 1-2 years experience prefered but not needed (if no experience will train)
