What are the responsibilities and job description for the Corporate Controller position at StevenDouglas?
StevenDouglas has been retained on an outstanding Corporate Controller opportunity in Dallas, Texas. This role is onsite 5 days a week.
Reporting to the CFO, this role will lead and develop a large team across the corporate accounting group and the shared services center, produce consolidated financial statements multiple entities, own the monthly close process, ensuring accuracy and timeliness and deliver operational and KPI reporting to executive leadership.
Additional responsibilities, but not limited to:
- Oversee tax compliance and coordinate with external tax advisors
- Support due diligence and accounting integration for acquisitions
- Design and enforce internal controls and accounting policies across all locations
- Work closely with treasury function to ensure secure cash payment flow
- Partner with FP&A, operations, and executive team on financial strategy
Qualifications
- Bachelor's and/or Master’s degree in Accounting or Finance required
- Active CPA license is required
- 10 years in accounting/finance, with 5 years in a controller or senior leadership role
- Multi-entity, multi-location environment experience
- Acquisition accounting and integration experience (purchase price allocation, opening balance sheets)
- Oversight of large accounting teams (50 employees)
- Strong technical GAAP knowledge, including business combinations (ASC 805)
- Strong knowledge of consolidation and intercompany elimination
- Proficiency with ERP systems
- Excellent leadership and communication skills - able to influence across a matrixed org
- M&A accounting and integration acumen
