The Senior Billing Clerk is responsible for overseeing billing operations, ensuring accurate invoicing, and supporting financial processes. This role serves as a key point of contact for billing issues, handles complex accounts, and may mentor junior billing staff.
Key Responsibilities
- Generate and review invoices for accuracy, completeness, and compliance with client contracts
- Manage high-volume billing cycles and ensure timely delivery of invoices
- Resolve billing discrepancies, client inquiries, and payment issues
- Reconcile billing data with internal systems (CRM, payroll, or accounting platforms)
- Monitor accounts receivable aging and assist with collections as needed
- Collaborate with sales, operations, and finance teams to ensure correct billing terms
- Maintain accurate records of billing transactions and documentation
- Identify process improvements to increase efficiency and reduce errors
- Assist with audits and reporting requirements
- Train and support junior billing clerks or administrative staff
Qualifications
- 3–7 years of billing, invoicing, or accounts receivable experience
- Strong understanding of billing systems and accounting principles
- Experience with ERP or accounting software
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel (pivot tables, VLOOKUPs, etc.)
- High attention to detail and accuracy
- Strong problem-solving and communication skills
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
Salary : $60,000 - $75,000
