Sterling Search Partners is working with an established organization to identify a detail-oriented Benefits Representative to join its HR team. This is an excellent opportunity for an HR or benefits professional who enjoys supporting employees, managing benefit programs, and ensuring accurate and timely administration.
About the Role
The Benefits Representative will provide day-to-day administrative support for employee benefit programs, including health and welfare benefits, retirement plans, wellness initiatives, and leave-related programs. The ideal candidate will be highly organized, service-oriented, and comfortable handling confidential employee information.
Key Responsibilities
- Administer employee benefit enrollments, changes, and terminations.
- Process benefits-related documentation and maintain accurate employee records.
- Serve as a resource for employees with questions regarding medical, dental, vision, life insurance, retirement, and other benefit programs.
- Coordinate annual open enrollment activities and employee communications.
- Assist with documentation related to short-term disability and workers’ compensation.
- Communicate with insurance carriers, brokers, and third-party administrators to resolve benefits-related issues.
- Review and audit benefits records and invoices for accuracy.
- Prepare reports related to benefits participation, costs, and other program data.
- Provide support to the HR and Payroll teams on benefits initiatives, projects, and other administrative needs.
- Maintain confidentiality and exercise sound judgment when handling sensitive employee information.
Qualifications
- 3–5 years of experience in benefits administration, HR, or a related administrative role preferred.
- Experience with ADP Workforce Now is a plus.
- Working knowledge of employee benefits programs and general HR practices.
- Strong attention to detail and excellent organizational skills.
- Exceptional communication and customer service abilities.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office, particularly Excel and Outlook.
- Strong data entry, recordkeeping, and organizational skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities, meet deadlines, and work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
- Demonstrated ability to handle confidential information with discretion and professionalism.
