The Systems Administrator (Advanced)
Location: Tallahassee, Florida (On-site)
- Fully on-site role (5 days a week in office)
- Must reside in or near Tallahassee, FL
- Flexible work hours between 7:00 AM – 7:00 PM
Job Summary
The Systems Administrator (Advanced) plays a critical role in managing and supporting enterprise IT infrastructure, cloud platforms, and system operations. This position is responsible for overseeing cloud environments (AWS, Azure), maintaining servers, ensuring system security and performance, and leading complex technical initiatives. The role requires strong ownership of issues, strategic thinking, and the ability to work across multiple technologies and teams.
Key Responsibilities
- Administer and support infrastructure, servers, and cloud platforms
- Manage and monitor AWS, Azure, and multi-cloud environments
- Configure, maintain, and optimize Windows Server environments (2012–2022)
- Perform system monitoring, performance tuning, and troubleshooting
- Implement security controls, access management, and compliance measures
- Design and support network infrastructure, including firewalls and connectivity
- Coordinate server and system configurations with internal and external teams
- Create and manage Azure DevOps projects, repositories, and pipelines
- Recommend and implement system improvements for performance and cost efficiency
- Support application hosting, middleware, and automation tools
- Maintain documentation and automate administrative processes
- Provide support and guidance to IT teams and developers
Required Qualifications
Education
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field
- (Equivalent work experience may be considered)
Experience
- 5–8 years of experience in IT systems engineering or related roles
- 3–5 years in infrastructure/network operations and system administration
- 2–3 years experience with Windows Server (2012 R2, 2016, 2019, 2022)
- 2–3 years IIS administration experience
- 2–3 years networking experience (TCP/IP, DNS, file sharing, permissions)
- 2–3 years hands-on AWS cloud experience (required)
- Experience with Microsoft Azure (strongly preferred)
- Experience with other cloud platforms (e.g., GCP) is a plus
- Experience with middleware, API management, and automation tools preferred
Technical Skills

- Strong expertise in AWS cloud services and cloud architecture
- Proficiency in Microsoft Azure and Microsoft 365 environments
- Deep knowledge of Windows Server and Linux (RedHat, Ubuntu)
- Strong understanding of networking principles and cloud-based architectures
- Experience with DevOps tools (Azure DevOps, Git, CI/CD pipelines)
- Ability to automate system administration tasks
- Knowledge of cybersecurity, identity management, and compliance
