Senior Systems Engineer – Infrastructure & Cloud

Stelvio Group is partnering with a technology-driven organisation to hire a Senior Systems Engineer for their Infrastructure Engineering function. This is a hands-on role with real ownership, focused on building, operating, and evolving enterprise-scale infrastructure across on-prem, cloud, and hybrid environments.
This position suits an experienced systems engineer who enjoys complex environments, values automation, and takes a proactive approach to reliability, security, and performance.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Design, deploy, and operate scalable infrastructure across GCP, OCI, AWS, and on-prem platforms
- Own and manage Linux-based environments (RHEL, Ubuntu, CentOS) across multiple stages
- Administer VMware vSphere, physical servers, and associated enterprise hardware
- Build and support container platforms using Docker and Kubernetes, including cluster management
- Implement and maintain Infrastructure as Code using Terraform, CloudFormation, or similar tools
- Monitor availability, performance, and capacity using tools such as Prometheus, Grafana, Zenoss, and Loki
- Drive system reliability through strong backup, recovery, and security practices (Commvault, DR planning)
- Support and improve CI/CD pipelines across application and infrastructure workflows
- Act as a technical mentor, sharing knowledge and raising engineering standards
- Maintain accurate documentation, diagrams, and operational runbooks
Essential Experience
- 5–8 years in systems engineering or infrastructure-focused roles
- Advanced Linux administration skills
- Strong experience with virtualisation and server hardware
- Hands-on experience with Docker and Kubernetes
- Working knowledge of cloud platforms (GCP, OCI, AWS)
- Experience with monitoring, automation, and configuration management
- Solid understanding of security principles, encryption, and certificate management
Nice to Have
- Cloud, Linux, or Kubernetes certifications (CKA/CKAD)
- Exposure to CI/CD tooling, container security, and identity management
- Experience with S3-compatible storage (e.g. MinIO)
- Background working in restricted or air-gapped environments
