Primary Job Duties:
- Design, implement, and continually improve warehouse layout and storage strategies including pallet racking configuration and location mapping.
- Develop variable stocking positions and flexible slotting strategies.
- Implement and optimize Point-of-Use (POU) racking systems and material presentation.
- Analyze space utilization and adjust layout to maximize capacity and accessibility.
- Lead 5S and lean initiatives within the warehouse.
- Develop and maintain standardized work for warehouse processes.
- Monitor KPIs and drive corrective actions for performance improvement.
- Oversee inbound material receiving, inspection, and system transactions.
- Ensure timely and accurate system receipts.
- Establish proper put-away strategies to ensure optimal space utilization and FIFO/lot control compliance.
- Verify proper labeling and location accuracy.
- Coordinate with Purchasing and Production to resolve discrepancies.
- Supervise order picking for production and customer shipments.
- Oversee de-trashing and repackaging activities where applicable.
- Manage kitting operations to ensure accuracy, completeness, and on-time delivery to production.
- Ensure material presentation supports efficient production workflows.
- Reduce picking errors through process improvement and training.
- Ensure timely and accurate ERP/WMS transactions for all warehouse movements.
- Maintain high inventory accuracy through cycle counting and reconciliation.
- Investigate and resolve inventory discrepancies.
- Establish and monitor inventory control procedures.
- Ensure lot traceability and compliance requirements are met.
- Oversee preparation and staging of outbound shipments.
- Ensure accurate documentation and system transactions.
- Coordinate carrier pickups and loading activities.
- Ensure packaging standards meet company and customer requirements.
- Supervise, train, and develop warehouse personnel.
- Set clear expectations and performance standards.
- Conduct performance reviews and provide ongoing coaching.
- Promote a culture of accountability, teamwork, and continuous improvement.
- Ensure compliance with safety policies and OSHA standards.
- Maintain a safe and organized warehouse environment.
- Enforce safety protocols and conduct safety training.
- Ensure equipment inspections and maintenance are completed.
- Lead incident investigations and corrective actions.
Education & Experience
- Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Operations, or related field preferred.
- 3–5 years of warehouse experience.
- 2 years in a supervisory role preferred.
- Experience with ERP or Warehouse Management Systems (WMS).
- Strong knowledge of warehouse layout design and material flow optimization.
- Inventory control and transaction management expertise.
- Lean manufacturing and continuous improvement experience preferred.
- Strong leadership and team development skills.
- Excellent organizational and problem-solving abilities.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and ERP systems.
- Forklift certification (or ability to obtain).
