A premier management-side employment law firm in Chicago, IL is seeking an experienced Employment Law Litigator to join its growing litigation team. This firm has built an outstanding reputation representing employers across the full spectrum of labor and employment matters, and is looking for a driven attorney ready to take ownership of complex employment disputes in state and federal court.
Responsibilities
- Defend employers against discrimination, harassment, and retaliation claims under Title VII, the ADA, ADEA, FMLA, IHRA, IWA, and related common law claims in state and federal court
- Handle wage and hour defense matters including class and collective actions under the FLSA, IMWL, IWPCA, and BIPA
- Defend and prosecute trade secret violations and breaches of non-compete, non-solicitation, and confidentiality agreements including emergency injunctive relief proceedings
- Manage all phases of employment litigation including pleadings, written discovery, depositions, motion practice, and summary judgment
- Appear in the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Illinois and Illinois state courts
- Respond to EEOC and IDHR charges on behalf of employer clients
- Communicate directly and regularly with sophisticated business clients to provide strategic guidance and case updates
- Collaborate with senior attorneys and firm leadership on complex, high-exposure matters
Qualifications
- Juris Doctor from an accredited law school
- Active admission to the Illinois State Bar in good standing
- Admission to the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Illinois required
- Minimum 3 years of demonstrated management-side employment litigation experience
- Substantive experience defending discrimination, wage and hour, and/or restrictive covenant claims
- Strong motion practice background including summary judgment briefing in employment matters
- BIPA defense experience a significant plus

- The annual salary for this position is between $150,000 and $250,000. Factors which may affect pay within this range may include geography/market, skills, education, experience and other qualifications of the successful candidate.
