The ideal candidate will have proven experience handling civil litigation matters from inception through resolution, including discovery, motion practice, and courtroom advocacy. Responsibilities:
- Manage civil litigation cases from initial intake through trial or settlement
- Draft and respond to pleadings, motions, and discovery requests
- Conduct and defend depositions, mediations, and court hearings
- Perform legal research and prepare memoranda, briefs, and legal opinions
- Communicate with clients, opposing counsel, and courts regularly
- Work collaboratively with partners and team members to strategize and develop case plans
- Maintain organized files, deadlines, and case documentation
Qualifications:
- Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school
- Admission to practice law in Maryland required
- 3 years of civil litigation experience preferred
- Strong research, writing, and courtroom skills
- Ability to manage cases independently with attention to detail
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and client service skills
