Role Description
We are seeking a highly organized and detail oriented Purchasing Coordinator for a full time, on site position in Austin, TX. The Purchasing Coordinator is responsible for sourcing, ordering, and tracking all parts, components, and materials necessary to support daily manufacturing operations. This position plays a key role in keeping production running smoothly by maintaining adequate inventory levels, building vendor relationships, and identifying cost-saving opportunities. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, organized, and eager to grow within a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
Qualifications
- 0–2 years of experience in purchasing, inventory, or a related role (entry-level candidates encouraged to apply)
- High school diploma or equivalent; additional education in business or operations is a plus
- Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain accurate records
- Proficiency with excel spreadsheets and 365 office software
- Clear written and verbal communication skills for vendor and internal coordination
- Ability to prioritize multiple requests and meet deadlines
- Comfort working in an in-office environment in Austin
- Willingness to learn purchasing systems and company purchasing policies
Responsibilities
- Process purchase orders for parts, components, and production materials in a timely manner
- Monitor inventory levels and reorder stock as needed to prevent production delays
- Track incoming shipments and confirm delivery accuracy and timeliness
- Communicate with vendors and suppliers regarding pricing, lead times, and order status
- Research and evaluate alternative suppliers to secure competitive pricing
- Maintain accurate records of purchases, pricing, and inventory in the company system
- Work closely with production and warehouse teams to anticipate material needs
- Assist in resolving discrepancies related to invoices, deliveries, or damaged goods
- Support physical inventory counts and cycle counts as needed
- Identify opportunities to reduce costs without compromising quality or delivery
