What are the responsibilities and job description for the Lecturer, Accounting position at State University of New York at Plattsburgh?
Expected to begin in Fall 2026, we are seeking a dynamic, collaborative educator who will be responsible for teaching undergraduate courses in introductory financial accounting, introductory managerial accounting, cost accounting, personal and corporate taxation, and/or governmental accounting, depending on departmental needs and the candidate’s expertise. Student advisement along with departmental, college, and university service is also expected. Faculty are further expected to be actively engaged on campus and contribute to an energetic educational environment. The Accounting Department offers the opportunity for our students to develop an in-depth knowledge of accounting and perspectives of the best principles and practices within the 21st-century world of business. The School of Business & Economics is internationally accredited by the Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business (AACSB). We offer students a broad-based education with a global perspective and an emphasis on experiential learning. As SUNY Plattsburgh is an institution that delivers challenging and high-quality educational experiences to a diverse group of learners, the successful candidate must demonstrate an understanding of and sensitivity to diversity, inclusion, and equity-minded policies, programs, and practices. The successful candidate will teach classes on-site at SUNY Plattsburgh’s main campus and may be asked to teach courses in a distance learning format.
