What are the responsibilities and job description for the Lecturer, Social Work (3 positions) position at State University of New York at Plattsburgh?
Expected to begin in Fall 2026, we are seeking skilled social work educators who will be responsible for teaching undergraduate and graduate courses across the Social Work Program curriculum depending on departmental needs and the candidates’ expertise. Responsibilities will include teaching 12 credits (4 courses) each semester across the BSW and MSW curriculum using in-person, hybrid and asynchronous online instructional modalities; reviewing applications for the MSW program; serving as a field liaison for students, if assigned field seminar courses; participating in department meetings, initiatives, and special events; and completing other tasks, as assigned, that contribute to the overall effectiveness of the department. Student advisement, along with departmental, school, and university service is also expected. The position will be located at the Plattsburgh campus and the successful candidate is expected to maintain a consistent on-campus presence to support the mission and operations of the department.

We offer our BSW program on our main campus located in Plattsburgh and through a distance learning format. Our MSW program offers an in-person, hybrid program option at our branch campus in Queensbury and through a distance learning format. Therefore, the successful candidate will be responsible for teaching both on-campus and in a distance learning format.
