This full-time career executive position will be headquartered in Wisconsin Rapids or Rhinelander.
This position offers a hybridized work schedule. The position will be headquartered at and required to work from the DTSD North Central Office Buildings at least 3 days per week. Position Summary
As a member of the North Central Region Management Team, this position will perform highly responsible administrative and managerial functions in the development, implementation and evaluation of important and complex policy, budgetary and organizational components of the department’s transportation engineering and related programs. This position will manage the delivery of Technical Services to other region sections, which includes responsibility for Real Estate, Environmental Programs, Soils, Materials, Pavement, Right-of-Way Plat Preparation, Survey/Mapping, Utilities, Railroads, Engineering Automation and Administration. Work is done through the use of in-house staff and consultants. Activities require extensive communication within and outside the Department.
This position has the authority to independently commit department resources to achieve established goals and objectives. It has managerial responsibility for program management planning, policy development and implementation; program budget planning, development and implementation; and exercises line responsibility for program management as well as employee supervision. The responsibilities of the position require highly managerial, professional and technical judgments which carry significant consequence of error.

Salary Information
This position is in schedule-range 81-02 with an annual salary of $101,920-$122,221, plus excellent benefits. A 2-year career executive trial period is required. Pay for current state employees will be set in accordance with the Wisconsin State Compensation Plan.
Job Details
This position requires the ability to independently travel between the DTSD North Central Office Buildings as well as occasional travel to other regional offices throughout the state.

- Experience leading a team of professional staff in a formal or informal capacity
- Experience prioritizing and coordinating multiple work assignments concurrently
- Managing multiple transportation program areas including two or more of the following: Utilities, Rail Coordination, Pavements, Soils, Materials, Environmental, Erosion Control, Administrative, Real Estate, Plats, Survey, Design, and/or Construction
- Supervising a team of professional staff
- Evaluating program or project performance measures and making recommendations to leadership to implement strategic initiatives or process improvements
