Responsibilities
- You will perform a variety of administrative, technical, and/or clerical duties to support the processes and functions of the Board of Nursing.
- You will assign received applications and monitor workloads to ensure applications are evenly distributed.
- You will assist with all types of licensing processes, with a specific focus on examinations (pass/fail/transfers), eligibility, and repeat examinations.
- You will respond to customer inquiries received through walk-ins, telephone calls, e-mails, and other methods providing timely and accurate responses to requests related to Board of Nursing application and licensing processes.
- You will assemble, prepare, and scan documents to records system.
- You will process applicant license updates according to processes, guidelines, and procedures.
- You will perform other administrative duties such as processing mail, processing list requests, processing refunds, and assisting with renewal processes.
Minimum Qualifications
- A high school diploma and work experience that is directly related to the area of employment. A bachelor’s degree may be substituted for the related work experience.
Preferred Qualifications
- Knowledge of principles and practices of office management and general administrative functions.
- Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.
- Strong customer service skills.
- Ability to exercise judgment and discretion in interpreting and applying relevant laws, regulations, policies and procedures.
- Ability to understand and follow both routine and complex instructions.
- Considerable skill in the use of office equipment and personal computers.
Other Requirements
- Position works in an office environment with extended periods of sitting and standing.
- May require occasional work outside of normal office hours.
- May be required to lift, carry, move and/or position objects weighing up to 25 lbs.
- Daily filing, data entry, telephone and computer use.
