- Advises assigned students.
- Evaluates retention data.
- Monitors progress toward degree completion.
- Serves as the initial point of contact for inquiries and referrals and escalates inquiries/problems to the appropriate person as needed.
- Conducts research and prepares statistical reports as assigned.
- Coordinates activities for graduation, induction, recruitment and retention, as assigned.
- Manages Student Services forms and processes and communicates with faculty about changes.
- Bachelor’s degree.
- Professional experience in a higher education environment.
- Knowledge of student development theory and familiarity with the college’s degree programs/requirements.
- Effective oral and written communication skills.
- Effective organizational skills and the ability to work effectively on a variety of concurrent projects while meeting deadlines and maintaining accuracy and attention to detail.
- Effective interpersonal skills and the ability to establish and maintain effecting working relationships with faculty, staff, students and general public.
- Good analytical, problem-solving, decision-making and team-building skills.
- Sufficient technical ability to master the software required to perform job duties at a high level.
- Work toward a master’s degree.
- Proficiency with higher education administrative software (Banner or similar) and MS Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
- Experience making presentations to groups and developing brochures and other written materials for distribution.
