Why does the job exist?
This position exist to oversee the day-to-day interpretive and educational operations, marketing and other public media communications, and the development and facilitation of all special event programming at Los Luceros Historic Site.
How does it get done?
Key responsibilities include developing educational materials, hosting special events, conducting historic research and delivering presentations for the public, assisting with daily operations when necessary, assisting with the development of exhibits, and cultivating relationships with stakeholders and collaborating with volunteers and external organizations. This position may also assist with collections work, fundraising, and grant writing.

Minimum Qualification
Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college or university and one (1) year of experience in teaching and working with lesson planning and curriculum design. Any combination of education from an accredited college or university in a related field and/or direct experience in this occupation totaling five (5) years may substitute for the required education and experience.
Employment Requirements
Employment is subject to a pre-employment background investigation and is conditional pending results. Must possess and maintain a current Defensive Driving Course Certificate from the State of New Mexico or must pass and receive Defensive Driving Course Certification as a condition of continued employment. Must possess and maintain a valid New Mexico Driver's License.
Working Conditions
Office setting, exposure to Visual/Video Display terminal (VDT) and extensive personal computer and telephone usage with extended periods of sitting. Must be able to lift 25 lbs and wear and maintain the official Historic Site uniform.
