Why does the job exist?
The Program Manager will:
Monitor and oversee grant activities and sub-recipient contracts for the provision of prescription drug misuse and overdose death prevention services and support;
Ensure that SOR contract deliverables meet standards and requirements set by policy as specified in the 5-year substance abuse prevention strategic plan and those established by the Substance Misuse and Mental Health Services Administration Center for Substance Misuse Prevention.
How does it get done?
The Program Manager is responsible for:
Serving as the primary point of contact for grant communication, implementation, an compliance, as well as oversee regular prevention grant activities to ensure grant requirements are met;
Coordinating communication, meetings, and activities with grant stakeholders and subcontractors to support grant implementation;
Providing technical assistance and support to sub-contractors to support grant activities;
Providing and maintaining fiscal management of the federal and subcontractor budgets, invoicing, and reconciliation efforts to meet both state and federal requirements;
Monitoring and maintaining federal and subcontractor contract compliance requirements and deliverables. Additionally, participates in regular outreach and collaboration efforts with prevention and SOR meetings, Prescription Drug Overdose (PDO) Advisory Councils, Central HUB Meetings, State Epidemiological Outcomes Work group (SEOW).

The citizens within the State of New Mexico with efforts surrounding the state's opioid response, drug misuse prevention and treatment, and subcontractors providing various treatment and prevention efforts throughout the state.
Ideal Candidate
The citizens within the State of New Mexico with efforts surrounding the state's opioid response, drug misuse prevention and treatment, and subcontractors providing various treatment and prevention efforts throughout the state.
Minimum Qualification
Bachelor's Degree in a relevant field of study from an accredited college or university and two (2) years of professional level experience with a tactical impact directly related to the purpose of the position defined by the agency at the time of recruitment. Any combination of education from an accredited college or university in a related field and/or direct experience in this occupation totaling six (6) years may substitute for the required education and experience.
Employment Requirements
Must possess and maintain a valid Driver's License.
Working Conditions
Work is performed in an office setting: late hours and weekends work may be required. Will be exposed to regular periods of video display terminal and keyboard usage and stressful situations. Travel may be required. Incumbent will work under stress and frequent time constraints. Must have own mode of transportation. Incumbent may be required to furnish a personal vehicle for carrying out assignments.
