Job Duties:
As an Research Farm Assistant 2, you'll help create a positive first impression for every person who walks through our doors. In this role, you will:
- Operates complex farm machinery equipment such as tractors, lawnmowers, batwing rotary cutters, disk and cultipacker, hay cutters, hay rake, seed broadcaster, and equipment for chemical applications. (30%)
- Maintains property and fences. Sprays fence line weeds, upkeeps hard and hotwire fences, repairs damaged gates or fences, builds new enclosures on property, maintains drainage ditches, mows pastures and lawn around shops and buildings. (30%)
- Makes minor adjustments and repairs to farm equipment, lawn mowers, ATV’s and tractors. (20%)
- Assists with maintenance in shop areas, shade structures and main building. (10%)
- Other duties as assigned. (10%)
Position-Specific Details:
- Appointment Type: This position does not participate in a Career Progression Group.
- Work Schedule: Work hours are 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM, Monday - Friday. Some nights and weekends may be needed.
- Compensation: The salary offered will be determined based on qualifications and experience.
- Location: Doyle Chambers Central Research Station, Baton Rouge, La.
- This position is not eligible for remote employment.
