What are the responsibilities and job description for the Registered Nurse Supervisor A position at State of Louisiana?
Three years of experience as a licensed registered nurse; OR
A bachelor's degree in nursing plus two years of experience as a licensed registered nurse; OR
A master's degree in nursing or public health plus two years of experience as a licensed registered nurse; OR
A doctorate in nursing or public health plus one year of experience as a licensed registered nurse.
As a Registered Nurse Supervisor A, you will supervise activities of clinics to ensure that patients receive needed services, program requirements are maintained, and appropriate follow-up appointments or treatment are provided.
In this role, you will also:
- Serve as charge nurse, overseeing patient care and unit staffing.
- Supervise and direct nursing staff to ensure quality patient care and adherence to established standards.
- Communicate and implement physicians’ orders and coordinate care across units.
- Monitor patient conditions through regular rounds and ensure accurate documentation.
- Review and oversee nursing care plans, treatments, and therapies.
- Administer medications, perform procedures, and provide specialized nursing care as needed.
- Support staff development through training, orientation, and in-service education.
- Participate in quality assurance, policy development, and research initiatives.
Position-Specific Details:
Location: Nursing Department of the Northeast LA Veterans Home in Monroe, Louisiana.
Appointment Type: Probational or Job Appointment
Work Schedule: Night Shift (10:45p - 7:15a)
- Work may involve shift work.
