About This Position
The Louisiana State Licensing Board for Contractors is seeking an entry or experienced Licensing Analyst for our Licensing Division. This role ensures compliance with state statutes and regulations governing contractor licensing. Analysts review applications, verify credentials, monitor active licenses, and assist with renewals while providing guidance to applicants and licensees.

Three years of experience in the issuance, maintenance, or reinstatement of licenses; OR

Every 30 semester hours earned from an accredited college or university will be credited as one year of experience towards the six years of full-time work experience in any field. The maximum substitution allowed is 120 semester hours which substitutes for a maximum of four years of experience in any field.

- Interpret and explain licensing laws, rules, and policies to applicants and the public.
- Review and analyze license applications for accuracy and completeness.
- Process payments for fees and fines.
- Conduct investigations and interviews to verify eligibility.
- Assist contractors in determining license type and examination requirements.
- Analyze financial statements, bonds, and property documents for compliance
- Verify credentials, corporate documents, and insurance coverage.
- Prepare official records and recommendations for Board/Agency review
- Assist licensed companies with changes to classifications and qualifying parties.
- Track compliance and maintain accurate records.
- Verify credentials to reciprocating states.
- Assist companies during renewal processes.
- Verify compliance with insurance, continuing education, and qualifying party requirements.
- Communicate with other divisions and agencies regarding licensing and compliance.
- Perform special projects and other duties as assigned.
