Grambling State University seeks to hire a full- time Maintenance Repairer 1 in the Facilities Department.
One year of experience or training in the building construction trades, building maintenance, maintenance or repair of mechanical equipment, or park operations and grounds maintenance; ORSix semester hours in construction management, construction technology, or engineering, or any combination of these courses.The official job specifications for this role, as defined by the State Civil Service, can be found here.
Job Duties:
Makes general repairs to buildings (interior and exterior), furniture, fixtures, air conditioning/heating systems, and other mechanical and related fields such as plumbing, carpentry, and electrical
Perform general maintenance tasks such as the following:
Repairing leaking faucets and toilets
Ceiling tile replacement
Repair/Replace defective parts using power tools
Manual repairs to locks and doors
Changing filters and belts for air handlers
Replace broken switches and receptacles
Other related maintenance tasks
On-call/Emergency/After-hour maintenance tasks and duties
Other duties as assigned
Position-Specific Details:
Appointment Type: Probational
Career Progression: Not eligible.
Work Schedule: Work hours are 7:30 am - 5:00 pm Monday - Thursday and 7:30 am - 11:30 am on Fridays.
Compensation: This position is eligible for an Extraordinary Credentials or Experience hire rate.
