Summary: Supervises and coordinates activities of workers engaged in operating variety of machines to produce meat products by performing the following duties:

Carries out Supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees with assistance from Human Resources Department; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

- Develops, recommends (to upper management), and implements measures to improve production methods, equipment performance, and quality of product.
- Suggests (to upper management) changes in working conditions and use of equipment to increase efficiency of related department or work crew.
- May be asked to act as a contact for USDA.
- Acts as a contact for emergency situations including but not limited to fire alarm events and evacuations.
- Analyzes orders to estimate worker hours and create production schedules that meet both internal and external needs.
- Computes amounts of stock and supplies required for operations, based on production schedules, and requisitions materials from storage area.
- Plans flow of materials through departments.
- Calculates and documents production yields.
- Interfaces with others in the organization to ensure customer deadlines are met.
- Inspects and measures products to verify conformance to specifications.
- Directs workers in adjusting machines and equipment to repair products, which fail to meet standards.
- Establishes or adjusts work procedures to meet production schedules.
- Suggests (to upper management) changes in working conditions and use of equipment to maintain a safe workplace.
- Works with maintenance personnel on scheduling preventative maintenance on equipment.

- Maintains time and production records.
- Estimates, requisitions, and inspects materials.
- Prepares for third party audits with assistance from Quality Assurance.
- Maintains certain aspects of the facility as required.
- Works with Vice President of Operations and Production Manager on special project, as needed.
- Acts as back-up to other Production Supervisors, as needed.
- Performs other duties as needed
