We are seeking a DevOps/Automation Engineer for one of our global Retail client. You will lead the team that provides strategic direction and executes on infrastructure, security, continuous integration, deployment, and IT operations practices, scaling and metrics.
This is a 40-hour per week, 12 -month contract (extensions possible), 100% onsite role in Pleasanton, CA.

Responsibilities
- Runs day-to-day operations of production and development infrastructure for a cloud based commerce platform.
- Develops an innovative approach to simplify and streamline processes to increase system scalability and reliability, improve efficiency, and minimize errors.
- Works with the Development and QA teams to provide continuous improvement of existing features and rollout of new services, ensuring high availability of our platform.
- 10 years of overall experience in Software Engineering, Platform Engineering, DevOps.
- Strong hands-on experience with Kubernetes (K8s) and containerized application deployment.
- Proficiency in Golang and Python for automation, tooling, and platform development.
- Experience with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using Terraform or OpenTofu.
- Strong understanding of GitOps principles and hands-on experience with Git, GitHub, and GitHub Actions.
- Multi-cloud Expertise, Infrastructure as Code(terraform), Automarion & CICD (Github actions ) , DevOps Mindset, Scripting and tooling (python & go preferred), Golden path Philosophy.
- Experience implementing and managing Service Mesh technologies, preferably Istio.
- Knowledge of observability and monitoring tools, including OpenTelemetry (OTEL) and Prometheus.
- Hands-on experience with cloud platforms, preferably Microsoft Azure and/or Google Cloud Platform (GCP).
- Experience with PostgreSQL database administration and optimization.
- Working knowledge of Apache Kafka and event-driven architectures.
- Understanding of FinOps principles, including cloud cost optimization and resource management.
