Job Duties
- Remove and replace forklift and industrial equipment batteries using battery handling equipment.
- Charge batteries according to company procedures and manufacturer guidelines.
- Inspect batteries for damage, leaks, corrosion, or other maintenance issues.
- Clean battery tops, terminals, and charging areas as needed.
- Monitor battery charging stations and maintain charging records.
- Ensure compliance with OSHA and company safety standards.
- Perform routine preventive maintenance on batteries and charging equipment.
- Report equipment malfunctions and safety concerns to supervisors.
- Maintain a clean and organized battery room and work area.
- Assist warehouse personnel with battery-related needs and equipment readiness.
Education Requirements
- High school diploma or GED preferred unless otherwise specified.
- Additional education, certifications, or vocational training may be beneficial depending on the position.
Experience Requirements
- Ability to follow written and verbal instructions accurately.
- Strong communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
- Commitment to quality, safety, professionalism, and dependable attendance.
- Ability to learn new processes, procedures, equipment, or software as required.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous warehouse, forklift, or battery maintenance experience preferred.
- Ability to safely operate battery-changing equipment.
- Knowledge of safety procedures related to industrial batteries and electrical equipment.
- Strong attention to detail and safety awareness.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced warehouse environment.
- Individuals who demonstrate adaptability, professionalism, strong work ethic, and a willingness to learn are well positioned for success as a Warehouse Battery Associate.
Physical Capabilities
- Ability to lift, push, and pull heavy battery handling equipment.
- Stand, walk, bend, and reach for extended periods.
- Comfortable working around industrial machinery and battery charging systems.
- Ability to wear required personal protective equipment (PPE).
