- Grind and deburr metal parts and components to remove sharp edges, burrs, excess material, and imperfections.
- Use electric and pneumatic grinding tools to finish components according to specifications.
- Inspect parts for proper finish, dimensions, and overall quality.
- Follow detailed work instructions, drawings, and production specifications.
- Use hand tools and measuring equipment as required.
- Perform visual and dimensional inspections to ensure parts meet quality requirements.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area.
- Follow all safety procedures and required PPE when operating grinding equipment.
- Identify and report defective or out-of-specification parts to the appropriate supervisor.
- Maintain consistent production while meeting quality and safety standards.
- Perform other manufacturing and production duties as assigned.
Education Requirements
- High school diploma or GED preferred.
- Technical training or manufacturing education is beneficial.
Experience Requirements
- Experience operating manufacturing or production equipment.
- Ability to read work instructions, production schedules, and basic technical documentation.
- Strong mechanical aptitude and the ability to monitor equipment for proper operation.
- Ability to perform quality inspections and maintain production standards.
- Commitment to workplace safety, attention to detail, and dependable attendance.
- Previous manufacturing, grinding, deburring, or metal finishing experience preferred.
- Knowledge and hands-on experience using electric and pneumatic grinding tools.
- Ability to safely operate grinders and other hand/power tools.
- Ability to read and follow work instructions and basic drawings.
- Strong attention to detail and quality.
- Ability to stand for extended periods and perform repetitive hand/tool work.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous machine operation, manufacturing, production, or industrial experience is preferred.
- Experience performing machine setup, tooling changes, troubleshooting, or preventative maintenance is beneficial.
- Knowledge of Lean manufacturing, quality systems, or continuous improvement practices is considered an asset.
- Individuals who demonstrate mechanical ability, reliability, teamwork, and a commitment to quality are well positioned for success as a Grinder Deburr Operator.
- Experience with grinding/deburring metal components.
- Experience working with stainless steel, aluminum, or other metal materials.
- Experience using calipers or other basic measuring tools.
- Previous experience in aerospace, semiconductor, or precision manufacturing is a plus.
Physical Capabilities
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, and perform repetitive production tasks throughout the shift.
- Ability to lift materials, components, or finished products weighing up to 50 pounds.
- Ability to safely operate manufacturing equipment while maintaining awareness of moving machinery.
- Ability to wear required personal protective equipment and work safely in a manufacturing environment.
