Education Requirements
- High school diploma or GED required; technical training, trade school, or machining certification preferred.
- Ability to read blueprints, CAD drawings, work instructions, and technical documents in English.
- Strong shop math skills, including calculations for speeds, feeds, tolerances, and machining parameters.
Experience Requirements
- Minimum of 5 years of CNC machining experience required.
- Experience setting up, programming, and operating HAAS CNC Mills and CNC Lathes.
- Proficiency with Haas Conversational Programming, G-Code, and Fusion 360.
- Experience machining aluminum, stainless steel, UHMW, and plastic materials.
- Ability to write, edit, troubleshoot, and optimize CNC programs at the machine controller.
- Experience working with prototypes, custom parts, and small-batch manufacturing.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience operating manual mills and manual lathes.
- Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision while managing projects from programming through final production.
- Excellent attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship.
- Reliable attendance and a positive, team-oriented attitude.
- Experience collaborating with engineering, fabrication, and assembly teams.
Physical Capabilities
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, reach, and perform repetitive movements throughout the shift.
- Ability to lift and carry up to 35 pounds occasionally.
- Ability to operate shop equipment, machinery, hand tools, and small lifts.
- Ability to use precision measuring instruments for extended periods.
- Ability to work safely in a manufacturing and machine shop environment.
Job Duties
- Independently manage machining projects from programming and setup through final production.
- Set up, program, and operate HAAS CNC mills and lathes to produce precision components.
- Program using Haas Conversational Programming, G-Code, and Fusion 360 software.
- Operate manual mills, lathes, and general shop equipment including drill presses, grinders, and band saws as needed.
- Read blueprints and CAD drawings to manufacture parts according to specifications and tolerances.
- Calculate and adjust speeds, feeds, depth of cut, tooling, and coolant flow for optimal machining performance.
- Inspect finished parts using micrometers, calipers, dial indicators, and other precision measuring tools.
- Maintain tolerances as close as .005 and occasionally .001.
- Collaborate with engineering and assembly teams to support custom projects and prototype builds.
- Perform routine machine maintenance and maintain a clean, safe, and organized work area.
- Follow all quality, safety, and manufacturing procedures.
