Accounting Manager

We're hiring an Accounting Manager on behalf of a growing foundation and civil construction company in Lafayette, LA. This is a high-visibility, direct hire role reporting to the Controller/CFO - with real opportunity to shape the accounting function as the company scales.
Job Duties - What you'll do:
- Manage general ledger, month-end close, reconciliations, and financial reporting
- Oversee job costing processes for accurate project profitability and cost allocation
- Identify workflow inefficiencies and implement scalable accounting improvements
- Maintain internal controls and accounting procedures in a growth environment
- Partner with operations and leadership to improve financial visibility
- Support budgeting, forecasting, cash flow, and audit readiness
Qualifications & Requirements - What you bring:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance
- 5 years of progressive accounting experience, including supervisory responsibilities
- Strong job costing and general ledger accounting background
- Experience in construction, project-based, or multi-entity environments preferred
- Proven track record of process improvement and building efficient accounting systems
- Advanced Excel; ERP/accounting system experience required
- CPA a plus, not required
