Job Description:
- Verify primary and secondary health insurance policies, as well as coverage for home care and medical supplies.
- Enter accurate insurance benefit data into the system.
- Prepare and review payer reports from the software system as directed.
- Enter insurance and authorization data into the software system and inform clinical staff once authorization is obtained.
- Order and distribute supplies to clinicians on a regular basis.
- Record and verify supplies ordered in patient records for billing purposes.
- Assist in maintaining the medical supply formulary and HCPC codes.
- Conduct periodic inventory checks and perform maintenance on medical supplies and equipment.
- Process and index faxed Med Cert billing and authorization documents accordingly.
- Other duties as assigned.
- Proficient in the use of MS Outlook, Excel, and Word.
- Comfortable operating office equipment, including facsimile, calculator, and copier.
- Effective oral and written communication skills.
- Ability to organize, prioritize, and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
