Position: Public Affairs Planning Specialist

Location: Aiea, HI (Onsite)

Pay: This position has a fixed rate of $120,000/year

Experience: 5 years of experience in Public Affairs, strategic communications, or related planning-intensive roles required; 10 years preferred.

Education

• Active DoD TS/SCI clearance required.
• Educational background in communications, public affairs, journalism, marketing, political science, international affairs, or related field.

Staffing Solutions of Hawaii is seeking a Public Affairs Planning Specialist to join a growing and dynamic team!

Job Description

• Develop strategic communications plans and supporting materials.
• Draft Public Affairs Guidance (PAG), talking points, and comprehensive communications plans.
• Develop and coordinate OPLANS, FRAGOs, PLANORDs, EXORDs, and COMPLANs.
• Coordinate and submit requirements through the Task Management System (TMS).
• Support FOIA and DOPSR review processes.
• Provide exercise planning support for IPC, MPC, and FPC conferences.
• Coordinate across multiple stakeholders, deadlines, and concurrent projects.
• Support high-tempo and crisis-response activities, including non-standard work hours as needed.
  
  

Position Requirements

• Must be a U.S. citizen.
• Must have a valid driver's license and passport.
• Knowledge of U.S. military structure, culture, and terminology required.
• Experience with strategic and operational planning processes, including OPLANS, FRAGOs, PLANORDs, EXORDs, and COMPLANs.
• Experience supporting or leading planning for large-scale exercises, international events, or contingency scenarios strongly preferred.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office 365 and SharePoint.
• Ability to access and participate in TS/SCI classified network environments and meetings.

• Polished communicator with the ability to develop concise executive-level inputs as well as detailed, multi-page planning documents.
• Strong organizational and time-management skills with the ability to manage competing priorities with minimal supervision.
• Ability to quickly build trust and credibility with senior leaders, international partners, and interagency stakeholders.
• Detail-oriented and highly organized with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
• Collaborative team player with strong cross-functional coordination skills.
• Adaptable and flexible, with the ability to perform effectively in high-tempo or crisis environments.
