Accounting Specialist

Location: Cleveland, OH, Hybrid

Required Skills

• Minimum of three years of experience in general accounting
• Proficiency with QuickBooks, Paycor, and Microsoft Office Suite
• Strong understanding of bookkeeping principles, accounts payable, and receivable
• Excellent organizational skills with keen attention to detail
• Ability to prepare and analyze financial reports
• Effective communication skills for liaising across teams and with external partners
• Ability to work independently and prioritize multiple tasks efficiently
• Discretion in handling confidential information
  
  

Nice To Have Skills

• Non-profit accounting experience
• Experience working with government grants and contracts
• Knowledge of payroll processing
• Familiarity with external auditor preparation and 1099 reporting
• Skills in budgeting, forecasting, and financial compliance
  
  

Preferred Education And Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred
• At least three years of professional accounting experience, with a strong preference for non-profit sector experience

• Access to own transportation
• Ability to work in a hybrid environment combining remote and on-site responsibilities
• Must pass a criminal background check and drug screening
